Settings

The Settings page lets you customize how Trickster Cards looks and plays. Changes are saved to your account and apply on all of your devices.

Name Tag

  • Name Tag – Choose a background style for the tag that shows your name at the table. Unlock tag tiers using Trickster Chips. Choose None for a plain tag.

Theme

  • Color – Choose the color of the game table: Green, Blue, Red or Charcoal.
  • Card Backs – Choose the design printed on the back of the cards, including seasonal designs or your own custom image.
  • Card Faces – Choose the artwork used for face cards (Jacks, Queens and Kings), such as Classic, Flat Face, Decorative or Hats.
  • Card Suits – Choose the shape and colors of the suit symbols (pips). Turn on large suit and rank symbols. Four-color options can make suits easier to tell apart.
  • Scorecard – Choose the font used to write scores on the scorecard.
  • Trump Highlight – Choose the color used to highlight trump cards in your hand, or None to turn highlighting off.
  • Watermark – Choose the image shown in the center of the table. Players with a VIP Pass can add their own custom image.

Features

  • Notifications – Choose which events (game invitations, reminders, club activity and more) notify you in the app, on your device, or by email.
  • Sounds – Turn game sounds on or off and adjust which sounds are played.
  • Suggestions – When on, the game suggests a bid or card to play when it is your turn.
  • Autoplay Forced Cards – When on, the game automatically plays your card when you have only one legal play.
  • Select Card Before Turn – When on, you may select a card before it is your turn; it is played as soon as your turn begins.
  • Allow Friend Requests – When on, other players may send you friend requests.
  • Confirm Bids – Choose whether you must confirm your bid before it is submitted:
    • Never – Bids are submitted immediately unless a bid-specific warning requires confirmation.
    • Always – You are asked to confirm every bid.
    • Auto – You are asked to confirm bids in Bridge when using touch input. Otherwise, bids are submitted immediately unless a bid-specific warning requires confirmation.
  • Confirm Cards – Choose how you confirm a card play:
    • Off – A card is played as soon as you tap it.
    • Tap 2x – Tap once to select a card and again to play it.
    • Popup – A popup asks you to confirm the play.
  • Joining Mid-Hand – Choose what happens when you join a game in the middle of a hand:
    • Ask – You are asked whether to play now or wait.
    • Play – You take over the seat immediately.
    • Wait – A bot finishes the current hand and you start playing with the next hand.

Display

  • Sort Cards in Hand – Choose how cards are ordered in your hand: High Left, High Right, or Auto (the game picks the usual order for the game being played).
  • Show Player Badges – When on, badges are shown next to player names.
  • Show Join before Compete – When on, the option to join games is shown before Compete games.
  • Show 3v3 Partnership – When on, a triangle marks your partners in six-player (3 vs. 3) games.
  • Show Clubs’ Card Faces – When on, custom card faces chosen by a club are shown in that club’s games.
  • Bright Face-up Cards – When on, face-up cards are drawn brighter for easier viewing.
  • Hide Bottom of Hands – When on, the bottom of each hand is hidden to save screen space.
  • Hide Title During Games – When on, the title bar is hidden while you are playing.
  • Highlight Rule Differences – When on, rules that differ from the defaults are highlighted in game details.
  • Smaller Trick Size – When on, cards played to the trick are drawn smaller.
  • Show Bid Tips – When on, tips are shown to explain bids.
  • Show New User Tips – When on, helpful tips for new players are shown.
  • Start App on Trickster Cards Page – When on, the app opens to the Trickster Cards page.

Chat

  • Enable Chat – When on, you can send and see chat messages during games.
  • Filter Chat – Choose how chat messages are filtered for offensive language: Auto (the default level), All (filter everything), or None (no filtering).
  • Chat Presets – Customize the quick chat messages you can send with a single tap.

Bridge Options

  • Use Straight-line Dummy – When on, the dummy’s cards are shown in a single straight line instead of in columns by suit.
  • When Bot Partner is Declarer – Choose who plays the hand when your bot partner wins the contract:
    • I’ll Play – You play both hands.
    • Bot Plays – The bot plays the hand.
    • Ask – You are asked each time.

VIP Options

These options are available to VIP Pass holders.

  • First at Table in “Play” – When on, you are seated at a new table and can wait for others to join instead of being placed in an existing game.
  • Show My VIP Status – When on, other players can see that you are a VIP. This is required for friends to join your games ad-free.

Timing

  • Wait Between Turns – How long to pause between each player’s turn (ignored in games with turn time limits).
  • Show Taken Trick for – How long a completed trick stays on the table before it is collected (ignored in games with turn time limits).
  • Show Scorecard for – How long the scorecard is shown at the end of each hand.
  • Show Messages for – How long game messages stay on screen.

Actions

  • Toggle Fullscreen – Switch fullscreen mode on or off (only shown on devices that support it).
  • Restore Default Settings – Reset all settings to their original values.
